I've been tossing up whether to catch PJ this time around. Love her work but White Chalk was not her best effort to date. I found her vocals a bit annoying - didn't quite work for me other than the single which was ok. I may still see her Brisbane show if I can find some spare cash, I'm sure she will play more that her latest stuff.

I'm off the the Opera House in the next week also - seeing Carmen. Its my first time inside our most well known building (I'm from north of the border). I'm curious to check out the acoustics while I am there - I am told they were not the best and that much had to be done to make them work better.

I have only recently listened to PJ starting with White Chalk which I liked a lot. Thought I would see what all the fuss is about by going to the gig.

I go regularly to the opera house and have had mostly good concert experiences with the sound. The only bad one was Dave Holland recently - a bass player band and you could not hear the bass.

It is always a lovely experience going to see a concert there. Hopefully all this bloody rain will stop soon and you can then enjoy a pre show drink outside in the sun at Opera Bar with the wonderful views of the bridge and the house.

Agree with you on the acustics, just went to see Nigel Kennedy tonight, great concert - took me so over 20mins to get out of the building because of all the rain, everybody's heading for the one downstairs exit.

As far as PJ is concerned 'To Bring you My Love' is still my favourite album but 'White Chalk' is starting to grow on me a little more.

Absolutley love Peej. Favourite female artist of all time. To Bring You My Love probably just about sneaks it as my favourite also, just ahead of Dry and probably Uh Huh Her, which is the stongest of her more recent offerings IMHO.

White Chalk has failed to grab me in the same way, but is a really interesting and often beautiful album nonetheless

Joe Bonamassa, Crawley...I kinda imagined BigH47 would be there...what did you think of it BH47? Me I found it very enjoyable and one hell of a player.

Absolutely apart from a slightly badly miked voice, but his guitar playing is tremendous.

Laura Marling at The Union Chapel, London N1 on March 9th. Looks like an interesting venue as well.
