Brian Wilson Edinburgh Theatre 22nd September. Looking forward to it enormously. Time for a Brian Wilson night tonight on the headphones methinks.

iLiKETRAiNS - Edinburgh 25th Sept
Rush - Sheffield 6th Oct

I am really intruiged by iLiLETRAiNS, having bought the Progress Reform collection - interesting lyrical concerns combined with a big post-rock sound.

I was talked into the Rush gig by a friend who is a fan. I quite like 2112 and Farewell to Kings but not that sure/familiar with the rest of their stuff. Hopefully it will be good!

Off to see Dream Theater this Friday 13th in Manchester. I just love Mr Mike Portnoy on the drums. They are all great musicians, though.

I saw Roger Hodgson at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham last night, I have to say that I wasn't sure what sort of performance to expect, but he was absolutely superb. Shame it was his last UK gig. Great set-list too.

Saw the Tord Gustavsen Trio at the Queen's Hall last night. Excellent evening. Reminds you (again) that even a good Naim hifi is a pale imitation of a Steinway grand in a hall with good acoustics.

Funny thing is the more I spend on hifi & CDs the more gigs I seem to be going to! Ho-hum.

I'm going to see them in Leeds on Thursday. Quite excited about it.
Did they stretch out a bit?

No, they played energetically and standing up the whole time - but I suspect that is not what you're asking Smile

I am going to see Dick Dale in a couple of weeks. Will probably need my ear protection reading on the internet he used to blow up amps like firecrackers.
