In theory, Jools Holland tomorrow night at Kew. But if this vile weather continues we shall stay indoors and listen to music on the Naim instead!

I'm just off to see my friend Fraser Diagram (ex-Diagram Brothers, a favourite of Peel), with a nice bottle of red. Smile

The re-conbobulated Kula Shaker at Cambridge Junction, 9th October (and if they're as good as they were on their trial outing at Norwich Waterfront autumn 2005 they'll be excellent!)

And YIPPEE!!! Smile Smile at the same venue on 17th October - JOSE GONZALES (one of only a handful of UK gigs).

His superb first album is called Veneer, and available very cheaply (in UK anyway). Not just another ‘man with a guitar’; more original and skilled. More in the league of Nick Drake.

A couple of links to whet your appetite (though of course they don’t do him justice!)

Lovestain (live, extract): http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jgku5WTaX7U&mode=related&search=

And his Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/josegonzalez

Also plays with Zero 7 (album The Garden).

A very late reply! We went and it was very good value. I have seen Jools many times - he seldom disappoints.

Coming up we have Police at Twickenham (08/09), Brian Wilson at RFH (11/9) and Rodrigo y Gabriela at Hammersmith in December. Some good things to come.

Hi Chris,
I might be at those gigs .
Its all down to how my back is at the time.
I have had to pull out of a few this year.
I have a friend who will always have my tickets
so i am not out of pocket.
But its a real pain when i cant go.

I hope your body holds up enough to let you get to those gigs.
Take care.

I know what you mean. My back went last week, which meant I couldn't go to the Brian Wilson concert on Monday. My wife went and said it was excellent...which didn't make me feel much better!
