Robbie,
So it is. Apart from NMSWP I've only got his first two solo albums and a couple of Birthday Party 12 inches. What do people think his best LPs are? All the best, David |

"Murder Ballads" - exactly what it says on the tin. Songs, describing in graphic detail, murder. Use of firearms seems quite prevalent and the way body parts are frequently detached from their owner.
Why ? Perhaps one or two songs of this subject matter might crop up in songwriters career - but a whole album full ? |

Having the entire LP consist of this subject matter was precisely the point, as well as perfectly suiting Cave's usual lyrics/persona.
Love the new one, sounds great on vinyl... but was anyone surprised at his new vocal style? Without knowing who it was, my friend commented "is this Bryan Ferry?" |

Be careful it could get expensive - I've ended up owning every Birthday Party & Nick Cave album to date. I agree the new one is excellent.
The ones I come back to the most often are; 1. Kicking against the pricks If I could only have one I guess I would pick Kicking against the pricks. My least favourite is Boatman Calls. Jeff |
