Last night I heard Sunrise over sea by the John Butler Trio. Absolutely brilliant! Are their other albums this good?

I guess nobody's familiar with them. Neither was I until yesterday. John Butler is an excellent guitarist. The music is very much in the acoustic Ben Harper vein. I can't recommend Sunrise over sea highly enough.

Hi Jimmy,

The JBT is our local home grown product who hjave moved from making a living busking in the streets of Fremantle to a fair bit of success Australia wide and internationally. Used to be a simple matter of seeing him down at the local, but now they've got too big for that.

Cheers, Jens

Jimmy,

I have recently moved to Oz and picked up on this when I arrived - it was the number 1 album. I played this CD loads when I was holidaying on the Great Barrier Reef and thought it was excellent.

Another of his discs - Living 2001-2002 (live)is meant to be very good. I bought it after my holiday and have not got round to listening to it yet. I will put it in the car tomorrow and let you know how good it is.

Cheers
Adrian

Thanks guys. I've found out that JBT albums are available as imports in the UK. I've already ordered Sunrise over sea from Amazon. By an amazing coincidence they're playing at Manchester Academy (approximately 20 miles from my house) on Wednesday. Provided that tickets are still available I'm going to that gig!

Jimmy - played the live Living CD on the way home. It is pretty good and if you like Sunrise you will like this. As it is live it has loads of good guitar in it and definitely grooves. It is also a double CD and pretty long.

Enjoy the show. I recently missed him in Sydney. Would like to hear how it goes.

Sold Out. So there must be some people in the UK who have heard of them, albeit it's a small venue.

Never mind. I've got tickets for Steve Earle tomorrow night at the Apollo instead.
