Recommended new album from JB. I think he's still turning out great music.

Good content and recording quality. I'm getting peed off with a lot of new pop/rock recordings which are compressed to buggery to sound 'impressive' on the radio, and thus crap on a good system.

No such problems with this one. JB clearly has his experienced hand on the recording tiller. Thus we get some proper dynamics, transparency, space and light and shade.

The Japanese version (which I have) sounds really good, and contains a beautiful bonus track of a live 'Late for the Sky'.

John.

I agree an excellent disc and it is a real pleasure to play on the system with the good recording quality.

John

Forgot to mention to you Jackson Browne was on the "Johnny Walker" show on sunday previewing his new album. It's well worth hearing. I think it will be on the BBC iPlayer for 1 week so you still should be able to get to hear the interview.

It sounds really good. It's out on vinyl at the end of October so looking forward to it.

I ordered the vinyl version some weeks back. Had an email today apologising for the delay but it's become a deluxe, gatefold, 180 gram Audiophile half-speed mastered version and is now on its way to me.

Which is nice.

I have the Japanese CD version. It repays several listenings, but grows on me every time. A great live version of "Late for the Sky" too as a bonus track. Have managed to get tickets for his 21 May show at the Royal Albert Hall - they are fitting him while Eric has a night off in the middle of his long session at the venue.

Jamie

Did you get your copy from Diverse?
I understand from the SH forum there were pressing issues in the USA.

Missed out on that but got to hear of the May date early enough to secure good seats in the stalls. Really looking forward to seeing him again. Glad the library have got Vol2 for you - I really like it.

Yeah, it's now a lot more than what I paid for it - I guess no-one knew it was going to be a whizz bang job

Taking my wife to see him for her very first concert in Edinburgh's Festival Hall. Got great seats from an old friend who was selling tickets for the gig.

We're all old now Huw! I was the oldest last night at Opeth but was in the younger part of the crowd at Steve Winwood
