Just got back from the Sydney Superdome - went to see the Eagles and it was a good show. Highlights for me were a storming, humourous version of Life's Been Good, Hotel California, Wasted Time and Desperado. They played alot of solo stuff, particularly Don Henley - would have preferred more Eagles particularly as they did not play The Last Resort.

saw interpol at the forum last night. Absolutely awesome. They were on top form, playing with that effortless intensity thats so beguiling and makes every thing they play sound so important. last year i saw them at shepherds bush and they were excellent, this was on another planet. The sound was great, clear and loud, which of course makes the difference. They still have a few dates left on this tour and are playing brixton in april.

Brad Mehldau Trio in the Centralstation, Darmstadt. Fabulous concert in one (long) set, three encores. Very energetic in both ballads and up-tempo pieces (50 ways to leave your lover...)
Best regards, freundliche Grüße Stefan |

Went to see Tommy Emmanuel (also saw him a couple of years back) on the last night of his tour at the Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford on 24th Nov. He is just amazing as well as very entertaining. His fingerpicking style is like a cross between Chet Atkins and Jim Hendrix. Check out the weblink in the other post to see where he is playing next year. If you can find the cd 'Only', buy it, you wont be disappointed

Amy Wadge - Aberystwyth Arts Centre
An excellent set from Amy ably assisted by her great band with ex-Catatonia drummer Aled Richards giving a sterling impression of a human metronome. An enjoyable gig. Andy |

Neko Case with her band the Sadies at Bimbo's last night in San Francisco. Jones/Krall et al eat your heart out - Neko kicks ass.
A very endearing performer - left her band playing the Benny Hill theme tune a few times eg when she went back to her dressing room to fetch the tambourine she had forgotten to bring on stage. Jeremy |

Interpol - Muffathalle, Munich 06/12/2004
A superb performance from Interpol last night. The band played in semi-darkness in this relatively small venue. Really controlled, intense playing, great sound, (for me, at least), unusual lighting, brilliant all round experience. They played for for about 1 3/4, covering pretty much all of both albums, "PDA" and "Slow Hands" going down particularly well with the audience, but every song came across superbly. I can't help thinking that next time they play live it will be in the arenas. Epic. Brian OReilly |

The Prodigy, Manchester Apollo - 6 Dec 2004
Unfortunately concentrated (too much) on the latest album IMHO so the middle 45 mins of the 80 mins concert dragged a bit - still good to hear Fat of the Land stuff in a "small" venue. Surprisingly my ears aren't ringing today - maybe years of concerts have de-sensitised them. I still think Smack my b*tch up is Liam's best tune but don't get to hear it much as Im banned from playing it at home. They played it last and it had the best reaction of the night. Paul |

Interpol. 4 Dec Lyon France.
This concert was amazing. Excellent guest band with Bloc party. They are from UK. I knew them before, thanks to the single "banquet", a great band. It was the first time I saw Interpol. This show was perfect, amazing. I think you are Right Brian. The next time they will perform in the arenas. François. |

I'd really urge any of you in the U.K. and who are interested in something new from the American indy-rock-scene to check out Kings of Leon. http://www.kingsofleon.com/ They have 9 or so shows scheduled in the U.K. mid to late December. I haven't seen them live, but their albums rock, and I'll be seeing them as sson as they return stateside.
Oh, uh... The Dead this summer at the Gorge Amphitheater, WA. I've had a daughter since then daniel |

Yes, 4/15/04, at Key Arena, Seattle; 35th Anniversary Tour with Wakeman and Roger Dean stage set(!). This just made me realise I don't get out to hear live music enough.
Just so I don't seem entirely of the grey-ponytail brigade, the show before that was Supergrass, who are more fun than a barrel of monkeys! |

Last week (30th November) I got dragged along to a Snow Patrol gig at Brixton Academy.
On record I can take or leave 'em, but live they were excellent, absolutely top notch, and the new material they played sounds pretty good too. Next gig's Kings of Leon on 23rd Dec. Can't wait for that one! Kevin |
