I hope the Administrators will turn a blind eye to this rather blatant plug.

I know quite a few Forum members live in or near Bristol, well on May 31st at The Prom, Gloucester Rd my band called (don’t laugh) Slipper are playing at 9.00pm.

It is improvised jazz with overtones of blues, funk & trance, I play the bass bits. We are inviting many of our friends to this gig and it should be a great atmosphere, admission is free, so I guess I’m not selling anything…….

Martin & Martin, thank you for your interest.

Well I’ll be there! If you can make it we will have a drink, I’m the handsome one playing bass…

A handsome bass player? Now there's a novelty Wink the reason most bass players seem to end up there is that they are not pretty enough to front the band...

seagull,

Haaa!! well I guess there might be a grain of truth in what you say concerning some bands. At least you stopped short of saying that bass players lack the talent to be lead guitarists... don't go there, it's a red rag to a bull for me... Wink

Bob ( bass player and proud of it )

Martin,

Good to meet you at the gig & very glad you enjoyed it.

We have gigs in the near future, but if it's OK with you I will let you know when the next Prom gig will be, pobably in a few months. We love this venue, always a good atmosphere.

The banana?.... well.... the guys in the band say it's to fill out my trouser dept, but really it's all I like to eat before I play a gig. I forgot it this time so Debs, bless her, brought it along to the venue. Ok, Ok... it's to fill out my trouser dept...!

All the best, Bob
