Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon LPs from a charity shop (perfect - £3). I also bought some LPs in the States last month, which at the current exchange rate is tantamount to charity - Butterfield Blues Band double, Mississippi John Hurt double and Robert Johnson (almost unplayed, about $40 the lot).
Actually some of these aren't the bargains they were - all the Oxfam Book & Music shops seem to take the Record Collector value (for A1 originals) as the price - which means they're always overpriced! |

Pictures At An Exhibition/ A Night On Bald Mountain - Sir Malcom Sargent - LSO
I have had this LP since the middle 60s I puchased today: Tchaikovsky Symphony No.5 - Sir Malcom Sargent - LSO. £1.50 Sir Malcolm was a fine conductor and recorded many fine pieces on the World Record Club label, does anyone remember this label? Chris N p.s I couldn't believe my luck on finding this 40 year old pressing in such good condition. I'm sure Fredrik has a nostalgia regarding Sir Malcom and The World Record Club. |
