The fruits of a winter locked by himself in a Wisconsin log cabin with a four track and an acoustic, Justin Vernon has created a beautiful and haunting album. A really unique folk sound with multi tracked vocals and sparse arrangements.
Yeah the album is near the top of my want list (the economy is biting ) . Was just listening to one of his concerts on npr:all songs considered yesterday. He is playing some English gigs at the minute, some supporting Iron & Wine. He is also playing gigs in America or Canada supported by the terrific Bowerbirds.
