You should also try hmv.co.jp. Cost is usually about the same as cdjapan but shipping a little bit dearer.

Where are you getting your shm cds from?
I'm seeing some silly prices on eBay, EIL, etc.
Best I've found so far is ...

cdjapan dot co dot jp

The cheapest postage stills gets to you quite quickly. I don't think I've waited more than a couple of weeks max.

... but not cheap P&P.
I have placed an order for one to give 'em a try.
Any shopping tips gratefully received!

That was the last set of ABKO Stones releases. There was a SACD issue and a DSD issue of the same discs.

Super High Material CD. Some remastered, some not. New plastic gives better performance.

If you put shm cd into google you should see a thread from stevehoffman.tv. which explains more.

Amazon.com sell 'em.
If you trawl through this thread & your good bad experiences with cd/vinyl suppliers & cheapest japan import c.ds you'll find various shopping opportunities Smile

Careful. When all that differs is the plastic I have yet to hear an improvement.

Technology developed by JVC, but non JVC releases appearing.
I haven't yet been able to compare a good CD against its' SHM rival.

Go straight to the most overrated acts thread Steve! Winker

I own the Original Exodus CD release (Tuff Gong mastered by Barry Diament), & I have the MFSL GOLD. I have the SHM Exodus CD on order, so I'll compare the versions with maximum Rasta vibes when it arrives Cool

regards the rolling stones shm cdlet it bleed, i did compare with the hybrid sacd ,standard layer, so there might be a slight disadvantage for the standard release, due to the two layers , but when compared the standard disc now sounds flat in comparison. i also have aja by steely dan which sounds pretty good but do not have a disc to compare against .

You mean the "I don't like - therefore they are over-rated" thread?

No fear. The negativity might be catching.

I'm sure you will find a suitable disc. I'm tempted to give one other disc a try. The Argus CD I have could be better.
