Hi,
I'm about to get some Supertramp CDs. I'm thinking Breakfast in America & Crime of the Century as starters. I used to have Live in Paris on vinyl years ago and I think I really liked it - but can't really remember it clearly. It was about 25 years ago! I looked at the write up on Amazon and the reviews were a bit mixed. What is the recording like? I noticed that Retrospective is available in Gold.Is it worth the exta cost, would it be a better investment than the 4 'main' albums. Any idea which version of the CDs are best and where I can get them? If not from Amazon. Cheers, Huw |

You have chosen the two best IMHO. Paris is a great live album as well. I remember the excitement when I unwrapped that album on Christmas day all those years ago.
The MOFI's if you can find them are well respected as probably are the SHM CD's - now out of print. Restrospective is fine but I would get Crime, Crisis, Even in the QM and Breakfast. You then have four complete superb albums and a great Sueprtramp collection. Think I am going to go and put Paris in the car for my journey to Brighton |
