Imagine worn brake pads screeching, accompanied by high pitched screaming, a B52 taking off and 77 drummers repeatedly collapsing onto a drum kit (yes really they have 77 drummers in the band)- can there be anything more exhilarating? Japanese noise bands have taken on the hardcore of Naked City, the musique concrete of Charlemagne Palestine, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Alvin Lucier, the sludge drone of Sun O)))), the industrial music of Einstürzende Neubaten and the noise of Non and Zoviet France. This might be the musical equivalent of the Datsun Cherry-totally reliable, in this case in it’s ability to excite - I think they’re going to take over the world

And imagine listening to that racket 9:00am after a night out on the turps...
