Last night Mr and Mrs MilesSmiles, Mario, Jerome (Mario's friend) and Mr and Mrs Lontano attended the Sydney Porcupine Tree show.

It was a very good show and the band were on excellent form - about two hours long and a pretty full on PT experience. Set list was mostly from FOABP, In Absentia and Deadwing eras, so lots of the heavy end of the catalogue.

Fear of a blank planet
What happens now
Lazarius
Anesthetise
The sound of Muzak
Dark matter
Open car
A smart kid
Hate song
Blackest eyes
Way out of here
Sleep together

Encore:
Mother and Child Divided
Trains
Halo

Musicianship was excellent as you would expect with some great drumming from Gavin Harrison and for a band that has not played much for a while they really were very well rehearsed.

For me the best bits were Open Car, Blackest Eyes, Anesthetise, Sleep Together, Trains(best track of the night, with Steve playing some great acoustic guitar) and Halo. Hatesong did not do it for me for some reason.

I was disappointed not to get to hear Sentimental and Normal but I am not really complaining Roll Eyes

So a good gig and I look forward to the London show in October.

A few shots from the gig.

Adrian

What a fantastic show this was. I'm amazed that although you left your big guns at home the little camera made such great pics from a distance. Cool

It would have nice to take the "big guns" with me but too risky. You can get away with the smaller cameras. Anyway, they are a little "noisy" but certainly good enough as a memory of the night.

Currently spinning In Absentia. The tracks from this album came over so well.

It sure was a great show and the band was in top form. I can't hear my SL2 at the moment but at least I have a good memory of what they use to sound like! It would have been good to hear more of their older stuff but no complaints, they delivered a full blown performance.

The nights company and food was also great, a fab night all round.

Top pics Adrian.

Mario.
