Munch, I found them last year and am still loving them in 2008. There are so many excellent PT albums to try out and then there is No-Man and Blackfield which is equally good. Even the missus is a big fan. And I have my first PT gig in a month's time. Cannot wait. Lontano |

Aksel Schiøtz in two arias from Handel's "Messiah"
This is so significant that I have captured it on CD. No copyright issues as the trasnsfer is from a PD source - a contemporary 78 record, superbly transferred It is officially issued on Danacord in a 14 CD, full priced set! Mostly Schumann Leid and other things that mean little to me, but this is so fine that I want to share the discovery. [1], Comfort Ye [2], Ev'ry Valley Shall Be Exalted Recorded for Danish HMV on March 26th, 1940, just days before the Invasion, with a youth orchestra of the best quality under Mogens Wöldike, who is another musical hero of mine. Such discoveries are real nuggets of gold ... George |

Is that the best any one can come up with?
Ok Rotf came in with a good one. But is it all Porcupine Tree. I now have 6 of there albums and three more on there way. And some of there stuff will be at a few forum members this week. But there must be other stuff that has got you this year? Adele 19 is another one for me great album. |

My find of the year is Goldfrapp! : )
It's strange they're been around for a decade or so and considering how good they are i would have thought they should be higher profile. ~<>~ I also like PT! ... <pink triangle?> ...no i mean porcupine tree, ...trouble is porcupine tree doesn't seem to like me, it sounds a far too serious : ( Mind you, i've only heard one PT album so far (foabp) so i may get into them in time. nymph |

nymph,
Thats the thing they have been hi pro when they needed to be. Since the sale of there first 3 albums they can do what they want. They are great live things like Alison getting inside a piano and getting her thigh boots stuck and the band played on and she kept on singing two songs while they got her out like nothing was wrong, Brilliant. So many of there songs get used in films tv adds that you know but dont know who did them until you get a album and then you think ,I know that tune or song. The PC album you have is very Metal. You will like the early stuff more. I will mail you about this. Stuart |
