The sound quality of the Relax 12" is fantastic. Unusual for pop music. That wave crash in the middle nearly knocks you off your chair!

It is typical of the ZTT / Trevor Horn production.
Listen to any of the Art of Noise / Propaganda / 808 State et al material that they were issuing in the 80's and 90's.

AFAIK there was only one 12" version of Relax released in the UK and two versions of Two Tribes (Carnage and Annihilation). The other 12" mixes available were released in the US or Japan and if memory serves me correctly, were generally inferior to the UK releases. Carnage and Annihilation are absolutely spectacular, a monstrous mix of percussion, driving bass and haunting samples from nuclear warning ads. Relax was pure high energy pre-house and filthy lyrics. Having heard some of the tracks before Trevor Horn got his hands on them (including Relax) his influence should not be underestimated. John

I believe Holly Johnson's voice was the only part of FGTH on Relax which makes it all the more ironic that the rest of 'em still tour without him no doubt "doing" Relax.
